Northumberland OPP are investigating after a community pantry used to support residents in need was allegedly stolen in Campbellford.
Police say officers received a report shortly after 5:30 p.m. Monday regarding the theft of the pantry from Bridge Street West.
According to investigators, the theft is believed to have occurred earlier that afternoon at approximately 2:15 p.m.
The pantry is described as off white in colour with a dark brown top and bottom.
Police say the structure served as a location where community members could anonymously donate or access food and other essential items for residents experiencing hardship.
As part of the investigation, the OPP has released images of a vehicle believed to have been used to transport the pantry, along with an individual believed to be associated with the incident.
Police say the investigation remains ongoing.
Anyone with information regarding the theft or the current whereabouts of the pantry is being asked to contact the Campbellford OPP detachment or the OPP non emergency line.
Anonymous tips can also be submitted through Crime Stoppers.
Police say information provided anonymously could qualify for a cash reward if it assists investigators.
