The Ace has been caught, bringing the latest Northumberland Hills Hospital’s Catch the Ace lottery to a close after 35 weeks.
The Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation announced the winning ticket was drawn April 29, with Cindy Barrett selecting envelope 51 to reveal the Ace of Spades.
Barrett takes home a total of $26,076, including both the progressive jackpot and weekly prize.
She says she was playing primarily to support the hospital and never expected to win.
Foundation officials say the fundraiser’s success reflects strong support from across Northumberland, with each ticket purchase helping fund medical equipment for the hospital.
They add Catch the Ace provided not only a chance to win, but also a meaningful way for residents to contribute to local health care.
With this round now complete, the foundation says the program will be paused for review.
Organizers are encouraging residents to stay tuned for future fundraising initiatives and other opportunities to support Northumberland Hills Hospital.
They note community contributions remain essential in helping ensure patients have access to the equipment and care they need close to home.
More information on how to support the hospital is available through the Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation website.
