The Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority says the Ganaraska Forest will reopen to all recreational users on Friday, May 1st.
While memberships are available year round, day passes for all forest activities become available the night before opening through the Ganaraska Conservation online store and at the Ganaraska Forest Centre gatehouse kiosk in Campbellcroft.
GRCA says visitors must carry their membership card or valid day pass either printed or saved on a mobile device. Parking passes must be printed and displayed on the dashboard of highway vehicles. Every membership and day pass includes parking.
Motorized users must also carry proof of ownership or registration for off-road vehicles, along with valid liability insurance and proper licence plates as required by provincial law.
This season also introduces a new online reporting form to help users notify staff about fallen trees, trail blockages, erosion, and other trail concerns.
Officials say like all forests, Ganaraska can experience damage from weather and natural conditions, and quick reporting helps staff respond faster and keep trails safe.
Users can find the new reporting tool on the Contact page of the GRCA website, though trail issues can still be reported by email.
The authority is also reminding visitors to read and agree to the updated Forest Rules and Guidelines before entering.
The Ganaraska Forest and other GRCA properties remain open daily from dawn until dusk.
Passes, memberships, and more information are available through the Ganaraska Conservation online store or by contacting GRCA during regular office hours.
