The Township of Selwyn says Jennifer Moore has been appointed as its next Chief Administrative Officer, stepping into the role as longtime CAO Janice Lavalley prepares to retire after more than 37 years in municipal government.
Moore will officially take over as CAO on June 1, while Lavalley will retire June 30, marking the end of a lengthy career township officials say helped shape local government services and operations.
Mayor Sherry Senis said Moore brings strong leadership and municipal experience to the role, calling her appointment an important step for the township’s future direction.
Council says Moore joins Selwyn with more than 17 years of senior municipal experience, most recently serving as CAO with Northumberland County.
Her background includes strategic leadership, financial and asset management, infrastructure oversight, council relations and community partnership development.
Senis said Moore’s experience and understanding of municipal governance make her well suited to lead the organization forward.
Moore said she is excited to begin the role and work with council and staff.
“With strong roots in Peterborough County, Selwyn feels like home,” she said.
Moore holds an honours bachelor of commerce degree with a minor in economics and is a Chartered Professional Accountant.
