The Municipality of Port Hope is preparing to celebrate local leadership, generosity, and community spirit at its annual Civic Awards Ceremony on Thursday, April 30th.
The event will take place at the historic Capitol Theatre beginning at 7 p.m., recognizing residents and organizations whose contributions have made a lasting impact on the municipality.
Officials say the evening highlights exceptional achievements across a range of categories, celebrating those who help strengthen the cultural, social, and civic life of Port Hope.
Admission is free and residents of all ages are invited to attend.
Doors open at 6 p.m., with entertainment from local performers beginning at 6:30 p.m. before the formal award presentations start at 7.
Following the ceremony, guests are invited to stay for a reception featuring light refreshments from local businesses and a cash bar.
The municipality says the annual awards are an opportunity to recognize the many volunteers, leaders, and community builders whose work often happens quietly behind the scenes.
For those unable to attend in person, the ceremony will also be televised on Cogeco YourTV on Monday, May 4th at 7 p.m. It will air on Channel 10, HD 700, and EPICO 100.
Additional broadcast times will also be available through YourTV.
Officials say the event is meant to bring the community together and celebrate the people who help make Port Hope a stronger and more connected place.
