Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for Northumberland region.
Snow is expected to begin late this morning and continue through Saturday morning. Up to 15 cm snow is possible over some locations with snowfall rates up to 5 cm per hour inland from Lake Ontario and over higher elevations such as the Oak Ridges Moraine. It will be warmer closer to the Lake Ontario shoreline which will likely result in less snow and a longer period of rain in that region.
The major highways likely to be affected the most with hazardous winter driving conditions are Highways 400, 404, 407 and 115. Motorists on Highways 401 and 2 with can also expect winter driving conditions with slippery roads and reduced visibility.
