A Brighton resident sought in connection with an alleged theft from a Main Street business back in late February has been arrested, say police.
According to Northumberland OPP, the accused was picked up back on March 4 around 1 p.m. during routine patrol efforts in the Elizabeth Street area after officers observed the individual known to be wanted on warrants.
After taking the individual into custody, police said a search also led to the seizure of a small quantity of suspected cocaine.
“The person was also sought in connection to a theft of items from a business on Main Street in Brighton on Feb. 23, 2026,” reported OPP.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 45-year-old Brighton woman was charged with possession of a schedule I substance – cocaine, theft under $5,000, failure to comply with an undertaking and failure to comply with a probation order.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
