The Port Hope Civic Awards program is now accepting nominations for 2025, giving residents an opportunity to recognize individuals, teams, or organizations that have made a meaningful contribution to the community.
The program highlights those who have generously shared their time, knowledge, and talents over the past year. Nominations are open in nine categories: Outstanding Citizen, Outstanding Youth, Community Service, Arts & Culture, Athletics, Agriculture, Philanthropy, Environment, and Heritage, with the Heritage category introduced this year.
The town notes that nominations can include non-residents who have positively impacted Port Hope, except in the Outstanding Citizen and Outstanding Youth categories, which are reserved for individuals with direct contributions to the town. Nominators themselves may live outside of Port Hope.
Residents can submit nominations online, and are encouraged to provide thoughtful submissions that highlight achievements and contributions. Complete eligibility requirements, category criteria, and nomination forms are available on the town’s website at www.porthope.ca/civic-awards.
Nominations for the 2025 awards must be submitted by March 5, 2026. The awards ceremony will be held this spring at the Capitol Theatre, celebrating those who have strengthened the town through leadership, service, and dedication.
The Civic Awards program is designed to showcase the variety of contributions that make Port Hope a vibrant and inspiring community, and town officials say they look forward to receiving nominations from across the region.
