The Town of Cobourg has called a special council meeting on Monday, December 1 at 1 p.m. to review the 2026 Cobourg Police Service capital and operating budget.
The Cobourg Police Services Board requested the opportunity to present the budget to council, highlighting priorities and upcoming initiatives for the local police service.
The meeting will be conducted using a hybrid format. Members of council and municipal staff may participate in person at Council Chambers, Victoria Hall, 55 King Street West, or join virtually through electronic participation. Residents are encouraged to attend in person or follow the meeting via the Town of Cobourg eSCRIBE livestream at www.cobourg.ca/escribe. The agenda will be posted on the Town’s website in advance of the meeting.
“This special council meeting provides an important opportunity for the Cobourg Police Services Board to outline the 2026 budget and for residents to understand how funds are allocated to support public safety in our community,” said a Town spokesperson.
Residents wishing to provide input on the police service budget can attend the meeting, watch the livestream, or submit comments and questions in advance by emailing clerk@cobourg.ca.
