As excitement builds for the Toronto Blue Jays’ World Series run starting Friday, October 24, Peterborough Police are reminding fans to be cautious when buying tickets through secondary sources.
Police warn that scammers may attempt to sell fake or non-existent tickets. Buyers are urged to have tickets in hand before paying, verify who they’re purchasing from, and meet in a public place for exchanges.
It’s also recommended to double-check the date, time, and game number on tickets or e-tickets to confirm authenticity.
Anyone who falls victim to a scam or learns of one circulating is asked to contact Peterborough Police at 705-876-1122 ext. 274 or file an online report at peterboroughpolice.com/online-reporting.
