Trevor Norris, Senior Manager of Destination Development at the Bay of Quinte Regional Marketing Board (BoQ RMB), has been named the 2025 Tourism Champion of the Year by the Tourism Industry Association of Ontario (TIAO).
The award will be presented at the Ontario Tourism Awards of Excellence on October 29, 2025, at the Ottawa Conference & Event Centre.
Norris has transformed the Bay of Quinte into a nationally recognized hub for regenerative tourism, sports tourism, and experiential travel. He has launched more than a dozen community-based experiences, introduced the region’s GreenStep Sustainable Destination Certification, and is developing a climate action plan through the Travel Foundation’s Destination Climate Champions program.
In 2024, his initiatives generated over $1.3 million in economic impact through major sports events, golf travel bookings, and the “Get Free Gas!” shoulder season program.
TIAO praised Norris for his leadership, innovation, and dedication to sustainable tourism and authentic visitor experiences, making him a standout champion for Ontario’s tourism industry.
