Northumberland County has launched a new and improved community website at Northumberland.ca, making it easier for residents, businesses, and visitors to access services and information.
The county says the redesign marks a major milestone in the county’s communications master plan, reflecting a commitment to transparency, accessibility, and engagement. Director of Communications and IT Kate Campbell says the refreshed website isn’t just about a new look, it’s about enhancing how people connect with their county government.
“We did extensive user testing to ensure a data-informed layout and navigation system,” Campbell said. “From better search tools to a mobile-friendly design, this site was built with the resident experience in mind.”
Among the highlights are a modern layout, simplified navigation, and a powerful new search function that helps users find information quickly. The site also includes improved accessibility features and vivid imagery that celebrates Northumberland’s land, water, and natural heritage.
As part of the launch, the county has also unveiled updated microsites for several departments and programs, including the County Archives & Museum (NCAM.Northumberland.ca), Business & Entrepreneurship Centre Northumberland (BECN.ca), Ontario Agri-Food Venture Centre (OAFVC.ca), and Settlement Services (WelcomeToNorthumberland.ca).
All microsites share a unified design and content management system, ensuring consistent branding while maintaining individual focus areas.
The county says the new digital platform supports its ongoing goal of improving customer service and two-way communication.
Residents are encouraged to explore the new Northumberland.ca and provide feedback as the site continues to evolve.
