A Kingston driver is facing impaired driving charges after being stopped by Ontario Provincial Police during a RIDE program in Prince Edward County.
Around 11 p.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2025, officers responded to reports of a possible impaired driver near Salmon Point Road and County Road 18. Police located and stopped a pick-up truck in the area.
The driver, identified as 45-year-old Sterling Brown of Kingston, was arrested after open alcohol was found inside the vehicle. He was transported to the detachment for testing.
Brown has been charged with operation while impaired by alcohol and operation while impaired with blood alcohol concentration over 80.
The accused’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and vehicle impounded for seven days. He is due in Picton court on October 27, 2025.
