Port Hope police say they’ve charged a driver following a police pursuit on September 27.
Officers say they observed a vehicle driving erratically in the downtown area. When the driver failed to stop, the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed before entering a dead-end street, where police located the vehicle and three occupants nearby.
The driver was arrested and now faces multiple charges, including flight from police, impaired operation, dangerous operation, and failure to comply with an undertaking. Additional provincial offences were also laid, including violations for a novice driver and failing to surrender a driver’s license.
The accused was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in court in October.
