Northumberland County Warden Brian Ostrander has announced that effective September 29, 2025, Jennifer Moore is no longer serving as chief administrative officer (CAO) of Northumberland County.
Moore dedicated 17 years to the county, including 10 years as CAO and seven years as director of finance/treasurer before that.
In his statement, Ostrander highlighted Moore’s dedicated and respected leadership through periods of transformative change. He credited her with preparing budgets that strengthened financial management, navigating complex projects, championing process improvements, and enhancing services for the community.
Ostrander also noted Moore’s role as a mentor to staff, fostering professional growth and helping build an organizational culture of excellence that will endure beyond her tenure. County council extended its best wishes to Moore in her future pursuits and thanked her for her commitment to public service.
At this time, no interim CAO has been appointed. Senior management will continue to oversee county operations and report directly to council while it considers next steps for the leadership position, according to a county release.
In response to MBC inquiries, a Northumberland County spokesperson said this direction was a decision of council but could not share any other details at this time.
MBC also reached out to Moore Monday who declined to comment at this time.
