The Port Hope Police Service says an investigation is continuing into a “possible arson” incident.
Emergency crews responded to 99 Phillips Rd. in Port Hope on the night of Sunday, Sept. 21 in response to a reported fire.
In an update issued on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2025, the service said the incident involved a fire that officers believe was deliberately set to paper towel at the front of a complainant’s apartment unit.
While the fire was extinguished without further damage or injuries, police said the matter is being investigated as a possible arson incident, and the probe is ongoing.
