Brighton’s Blue Dragons are back to hitting the track and already racking up multiple wins after the 41st Trinity Invitational Harrier Meet.
East Northumberland Secondary School (ENSS) cross-country athletes hit the track in Port Hope earlier this week for the annual meet, recording several top 10 individual finishes and solid overall team wins across most all divisions.
ENSS has confirmed that four individual runners finished in the top 10. Sullivan Tait is back for the wins with a fourth-place finish in the seniors’ boys’ six-kilometre race after the meet.
Meanwhile, Owen McDougall secured fifth and Jack Turner 10th. In the senior girls six-kilometre trek, Anastasiia Syrovatska is also back at it and secured ninth place.
The senior boys also won their division. The team includes Tait, McDougall, Turner, Chase Eddy, Nate Boomhouwer, Dawson Dunham, Orion Kovacs, Ethan McDougall, Alex Botting and Jon Tresher.
Meanwhile, the novice girls secured an overall fourth-place finish. The winning team includes Layla Delport, Ellie Shutt, Sabrina Baptista, Nicola Turner, Jayla Orr, Sophie Lawlor and Ginny Goolsby.
The senior girls’ team wasn’t tracking far behind with an overall fifth-place finish. Syrovatska, Kora Ferguson, Caris Hennessy, Chloe Nichols, Rachel Horton, Josalynn Scott and Addison Hill helped secure the win.
The junior girls’ team – comprised of Roslyn Marshall, Raya VanEdmond, Maddy O’Sullivan Lily Hoole – also finished fifth.
The junior boys’ took an overall tenth-place finish thanks to Danish Kuhafa, Charlie Grills, Casimir Iwan, Joshua Haveman, Maverick Berry, and Tyler Trescher.
And for the novice boys, Jackson Doty, Sawyer Thain, and Princeton Fleming ran their best despite not having enough runners to officially make a team.
Known for dominating the track regionally and beyond, ENSS athletes are once again setting the pace for another exciting season to come.
