The Ontario government is investing $3 million to support Francophone communities across the province through the 2025-26 Francophone Community Grants Program.
The funding will help 71 organizations expand services, improve training and create jobs. Among the recipients is Junior Achievement of Northern & Eastern Ontario, which will receive $44,560 to recruit and train bilingual volunteers, host French-language career and entrepreneurship sessions, and strengthen ties with local school boards.
“I am incredibly proud to see our government investing in the vitality of Ontario’s Francophone community right here in Peterborough,” said Peterborough—Kawartha MPP Dave Smith.
The program is designed to enhance access to French-language services, support bilingual staff recruitment and promote cultural and economic initiatives.
John McNutt, president and CEO of Junior Achievement of Northern & Eastern Ontario, said the investment will help empower Francophone youth through financial literacy, entrepreneurship and work readiness programs, while deepening connections between Ontario and Quebec.
