
Port Hope Police say a 42-year-old local woman has been charged after officers responded to a report of a possible impaired driver last week.
Police report receiving the call at about 8:00 p.m. on September 2, 2025. Officers located the vehicle and spoke with the driver who was from Port Hope. Police allege signs of impairment were observed and the accused was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle.
She was later released on an appearance notice with a future court date. Her vehicle was impounded and her driver’s licence suspended for 90 days under provincial administrative penalties.
The Port Hope Police Service is reminding residents that impaired driving is a serious offence that endangers lives on local roads. Anyone who suspects an impaired driver is urged to call 9-1-1 immediately.
