Neave Alderson of the Peterborough Curling Club has been awarded the 2025 Fran Todd All Heart Scholarship Award, a national honour recognizing excellence on and off the ice.
Alderson received the award during a ceremony at the club on August 31, surrounded by family, friends, coaches and fellow curlers. Pat Reid, Chair of the Governor General’s Curling Club Scholarship Committee, and Fran Todd were on hand to present the award.
Selected from 105 applicants across Canada, Alderson was recognized for her curling and academic achievements, community service, and a personal essay about the impact curling has had on her life.
The Governor General’s Curling Club, founded in 1874, partners with Curling Canada to award scholarships to promising young curlers who are making a difference in their communities.
Alderson has curled at the Peterborough Curling Club since 2022, participating in junior, high school, wheelchair team and doubles leagues. The scholarship will help support her post-secondary education.
