A 67-year-old is facing impaired driving charges after being stopped during a RIDE program in Prince Edward County.
Ontario Provincial Police say officers with the Prince Edward detachment were conducting the roadside check shortly after 1 a.m. on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. The RIDE program was set up on Highway 62 near County Road 3.
Police say the driver of a pick-up truck was tested using an approved roadside screening device. The individual was arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing.
The 67-year-old man of Consecon has been charged with operation while impaired by alcohol and operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration over 80.
His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days. The accused is scheduled to appear in Picton court September 17.
