The Town of Greater Napanee is encouraging residents to take part in two community events on Saturday, September 6, aimed at cleaning up homes and disposing of hazardous waste safely.
The first is Giveaway Day, running from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Residents are invited to place unwanted but usable items at the curb for others to pick up for free. Items should be clearly marked as free and must be removed by 7 p.m. if left unclaimed. Suggested items include books, furniture, kitchenware, tools, electronics, and sports equipment. Hazardous items such as baby equipment, mattresses, and blinds will not be accepted.
Also on September 6, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., the town will host Household Hazardous Waste Day at GFL Environmental on Advance Avenue. Greater Napanee residents can drop off items like batteries, paint, propane tanks, pool chemicals, and old medications. Proof of residency is required.
