
Cobourg Police say a 40-year-old woman from Port Hope is facing charges after officers investigated a disturbance in the downtown area.
According to police, at approximately 9:15 p.m. on Monday, September 1, 2025, an officer on general patrol responded to a disturbance in the area of King Street and Division Street in Cobourg.
Police say the officer located a woman seated in front of a business holding a bag of what appeared to be cocaine with drug paraphernalia nearby. When the officer attempted to arrest her, she resisted.
As a result, the 40-year-old Port Hope woman was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of a Schedule I substance, identified by police as cocaine and fentanyl, and one count of obstructing a peace officer.
The accused was held in custody pending a Show Cause Hearing.
