Peterborough’s first-ever Concussion Summit will be held next month, bringing together educators, health care professionals, coaches, athletes and parents at Market Hall.
Co-hosted by Peterborough Athletic Concussion Awareness and the Greater Peterborough Health Services Foundation, the October 28th event will feature expert-led presentations on the latest concussion research, treatment strategies and approaches to concussion recovery.
Foundation executive director Vince Bierworth says it’s all about concussion awareness and education.
Bierworth says with concussion management protocols ever changing, an event like this is vital in terms of keeping parents, athletes, coaches and other stakeholders up to date.
Bierworth says his foundation’s involvement as a partner is an extension of ongoing efforts to further concussion education.
Tickets to the summit, which starts at noon, cost $24 and are available at www.markethall.org.
