The Town of Greater Napanee will begin livestreaming all future media and special speaking events to make information more accessible to the public. The initiative is part of the Town’s new Corporate Communications Strategy, adopted by council on July 8, 2025.
The strategy aims to improve transparency and citizen engagement. Key measures include clear and consistent updates, e-newsletters with council decisions and Town news, improved website searchability, and tailored information delivery via radio, web, print, and social media. It also increases opportunities for residents to provide input on municipal issues.
Mayor Terry Richardson said the public expects information to be easily accessible and the Town is taking steps to meet that expectation. Chief Administrative Officer Matthew Grant added that staff will continue developing open and cost-effective ways to share information and services.
Livestreaming will be provided wherever technology allows, ensuring residents can watch Town events and stay informed about local government activities.
