ROMA Official stresses safety heading back to school
Police and public officials are reminding all to exercise caution when driving at the beginning of a new school year.
ROMA Rural Caucus Chair Christa Lowry is also Mayor of Mississippi Mills where a student was killed last year after school let out. Lowry promotes safe driving, especially during the school year.
In a published statement Lowry said about last June’s tragedy, “We continue to grieve the community’s tragic loss in June. Although we move forward, we carry that heavy loss with us.”
Lowry also says her community and others in the eastern part of the County are facing additional traffic challenges due to residential growth and development expansion.
Lowry asks drivers in all communities to come together and make this school year a safe on on the roads.
