The Town of Cobourg has scheduled a public meeting to review development applications for a proposed nine-storey mixed-use building at 202 Second Street.
The Town’s Planning and Development Department says it has received complete applications from 202 Second Street Inc., represented by Fotenn Planning and Design, for both an Official Plan Amendment and a Zoning By-law Amendment under the Planning Act.
The Official Plan Amendment (File OP-2025-003) seeks to create a site-specific policy within the Main Central Area designation to allow high-density residential, commercial, and mixed-use development with a height exception. The companion Zoning By-law Amendment (File ZB-2025-003) would permit both residential and commercial uses on the property.
To gather community feedback, Cobourg Council will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. in the third floor Council Chambers at Victoria Hall, 55 King Street West. Residents who wish to participate virtually must register with the Municipal Clerk by 2:00 p.m. on September 16. Options are available to join by Zoom or telephone. Written submissions are also encouraged and will be included in the public record.
The meeting will be livestreamed on the Town of Cobourg’s eSCRIBE portal at www.Cobourg.ca/eSCRIBE.
Additional details and background materials, including maps of the subject property, are available from the Planning and Development Department at Victoria Hall during regular office hours. Members of the public can call 905-372-1005 and reference File Numbers OP-2025-003 and ZB-2025-003.
