Peterborough is inviting residents to take a more active role in local government by joining advisory committees and boards.
These groups provide guidance on municipal programs and services, helping shape decisions that affect the community. Volunteers are selected through a formal process, and some positions may require an interview. Applicants must live or own property in Peterborough. The city emphasizes accessibility, inclusion, and diversity on all its boards and committees.
Opportunities currently available include the Accessibility Advisory Committee with two openings, the Community Investment Grants Advisory Committee with eight vacancies, the Property Standards Committee with one position, the Peterborough Public Library Board with one opening, and the Planning Advisory Committee with one vacancy.
Residents can pick up an application in person at City Hall, 500 George St. N., or submit one online. All terms run until December 2026. Applications must be submitted by September 12.
