The Canadian Mental Health Association Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge has received a $25,000 donation from Kevan and Roberta Herod of Herod Financial Services to support its Journeying Together program.
The initiative provides one-on-one support, education and advocacy for families and caregivers of people living with mental illness. Services are available both in-person and virtually across the region.
Over the past decade, the Herod family has contributed nearly $200,000 to CMHA HKPR, making them one of the organization’s most significant private donors.
“Journeying Together makes a real difference for families,” said Kevan and Roberta Herod. “We’re honoured to play a small part in ensuring this lifeline is available for others in our community.”
CMHA HKPR CEO Ellen Watkins called the donation “a powerful affirmation” of the shared commitment to improving mental health supports.
One program participant described Journeying Together as “a life saver” during a time of crisis for their family.
