A 59-year-old Peterborough man is facing impaired driving charges after police say he drove his truck through traffic cones near an active construction site.
An officer directing traffic at High Street and Lansdowne Street reportedly saw the vehicle pass through the cones and approach him. When speaking with the driver, the officer noticed signs of impairment.
Police say the man was arrested and charged with operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs, and operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration over 80.
The accused received a 90-day licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.
