The Lakers are in Six Nations tonight for another must-win game against the Chiefs. Peterborough stayed alive in the series with a 9-8 win in Game 4 on Saturday. The last time a team came back from a 3-0 deficit in the MSL Final was in 2016 when the Chiefs came back to beat the Lakers in seven games.
It was a winning weekend for the Peterborough 8U Tigers. The team only lost one game on route to capturing the Ontario Baseball Association championship in front of a packed hometown crowd at East City Bowl. The Tigers won their final game 11-9 against Scarborough, the team that handed them their only loss.
There were several local connections in Korea as Canada won their first-ever gold medal at the U20 World Lacrosse Championship. Jr. A Lakers Sam Trumble and Wyatt Wiggins were on the team, along with another Peterborough native, Brendan Marino. Former Laker John Grant Jr. was the team’s assistant coach.
