Peterborough County OPP have charged a 57-year-old man following an incident of intimate partner violence on Highway 115.
At around 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, officers responded to a call about an individual lying in the grass at the side of the highway. The person appeared visibly upset and told officers that while traveling with their spouse, an argument escalated and they were struck before being left at the roadside.
Officers located the accused, spoke with him, and made an arrest. He faces two counts of assault and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on October 7.
