Mayor Jeff Leal is inviting community members, local businesses, and city leaders to take part in the second annual Peterborough Mayoral Invitational Charity Golf Tournament on Monday, September 8, 2025, with all proceeds benefiting the Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC) Foundation.
The tournament will be held at the Kawartha Golf Club and will feature a round of golf, lunch, and dinner, providing participants with a day of friendly competition while supporting local healthcare.
“I was faced with a cancer diagnosis two years ago, but I’m cancer free today because of the swift and effective care I received right here in our community,” said Mayor Leal. “We must ensure that PRHC has all the resources they need to continue to provide the best quality care for the residents of our City and Region. That’s why I have chosen to support the PRHC Foundation’s Campaign for PRHC, with the proceeds of the second annual Mayoral Invitational Charity Golf Tournament helping to reimagine healthcare in our region.”
Lesley Heighway, President & CEO of the PRHC Foundation, added, “We’re grateful to Mayor Jeff Leal for supporting the Campaign for PRHC. We recently announced an ambitious expansion of our campaign goal from $60 million to $70 million. It’s a bold step that reflects the growing and urgent healthcare needs in our region.
