Quinte West businesses looking for a little help to enhance and revitalize their properties may want to check out the city’s community improvement plan (CIP) fall intake.
The City of Quinte West is accepting applications now for its revised 2025 plan, officials have announced.
“The city is committed to supporting local business development and economic growth,” said Linda Lisle, manager of economic development and tourism services. “This funding empowers business owners to invest in their properties, boost curb appeal, and contribute to a vibrant and thriving community.”
According to the city, the CIP program can help with up to 50 per cent in matching funds for eligible projects tackling building and property renovations, signage upgrades, façade improvements, and upper-storey conversions. What’s more, new this year, local tourism operators are also eligible to apply to support enhancements to their tourism offerings, explained city staff.
Eligible businesses looking to apply through the fall intake have until Sept. 29. Council previously set aside a reported $200,000 in CIP funding to support local businesses through spring and fall intake periods.
During the first intake period, there were nine applications, and seven projects approved, noted city staff. Interested business owners can visit the city’s website to learn more and/or put in an application.
