Five people are facing charges after a traffic stop led to the alleged seizure of drugs in the Quinte West Loyalist Parkway area, says OPP.
According to OPP, members of the East Region’s community street crime unit and Prince Edward County OPP conducted a traffic stop on Loyalist Parkway in Quinte West on Aug. 14, 2025.
As a result of the investigation, officers allegedly seized a quantity of suspected cocaine, opioids and Canadian currency, reported OPP.
Police said two 33-year-old Demorestville residents, a 27-year-old Markham resident, and a 25-year-old North York resident were all charged with possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid, and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
Meanwhile, the investigation also led to an 18-year-old Toronto resident charged with possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and obstructing a peace officer.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
