The world is burning, but it’s still turning for Swifties.
On Tuesday, the international news cycle took a break from war, famine and political upheaval, focusing its attention on Taylor Swift’s surprise announcement of a pending new album – her 12th and the first since her record-smashing Eras Tour that ended late last year in Vancouver.
Joined by her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason for a podcast episode teaser, Swift held up a blurred-out version of the cover for The Life of a Showgirl.
The announcement sent Swifties worldwide into a frenzy, including here in Peterborough where bigtime fan Tracy Condon is over the moon.
Condon says Swift continues to provide the world with a needed and welcome breath of positivity.
Condon adds Swift’s marketing is second to none in terms of creating anticipation.
A past chair of Peterborough Musicfest, Condon attended three Eras Tour concerts – two in Toronto and one in Nashville.
