A woman was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a single-vehicle motorcycle crash in North Kawartha.
Ontario Provincial Police say the collision happened shortly before 2 p.m. on August 8th along County Road 504. According to investigators, the motorcycle, carrying a driver and passenger, lost control and entered a ditch. Both riders were thrown from the bike.
The driver, a 60-year-old man from Bowmanville, sustained minor injuries and was transported by land ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. His passenger, a 61-year-old woman from Scarborough, suffered more serious injuries and was flown to hospital by ORNGE Air Ambulance.
County Road 504 was closed for several hours while emergency crews worked at the scene and officers trained in collision reconstruction documented and measured evidence to determine the cause of the crash.
Police have not released further details about the circumstances leading to the collision.
