The Napanee Express are national champions after winning the U17 Men’s Canadian Fast Pitch Championship at home.
The hometown team defeated the Wilmot Thunder 13-2 Sunday afternoon at the Napanee Fairground Sports Complex to claim the gold medal.
Stephen Paul of Softball Napanee shared with myFM it was an amazing week, with fans packing the stands for nearly every game.
Teams from Ontario, Newfoundland, Saskatchewan, Quebec, and Nova Scotia travelled to Napanee, bringing visitors and energy to the community.
