Peterborough Police have confirmed they are looking into an incident in a local parking lot that has gone viral on social media.
In a series of videos posted online this week by a user identified as Mostafizur Alif, a group of men were recorded making obscene hand gestures and even sexual gestures towards a couple in the parking lot of Lansdowne Place. The recording also features a threat and a racial slur being yelled out during a verbal exchange.
Alif said in an online post – “I and my partner are still traumatized and I am posting so that it does not happen to someone else and we want justice. At Lansdowne Place parking lot last week.”
Manager of Strategic Communication Services with Peterborough Police, Sandra Dueck, told PTBOTODAY.ca via email they did in fact receive a call for service and an investigation is ongoing.
