Northumberland’s annual All Hands on Deck Food Drive, hosted by 93.3 myFM and Classic Rock 107.9, returns this Thursday, August 14, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with support from Elliott Insurance Services.
Residents can drop off donations at multiple locations throughout Cobourg including Metro, Foodland, No Frills, and Walmart and in Port Hope at Food Basics, Giant Tiger, and Independent and all donations will be distributed across the county.
Food 4 All Warehouse’s Jen Glover explains.
With food bank shelves running low and back-to-school costs rising, the drive is focused on gathering non-perishable food items and school supplies, helping local families ensure their children are ready for the classroom.
Every donation makes a big difference and Glover says monetary donations are really helpful.
The impact from last year highlights the event’s importance, collecting more than 8,000 pounds of food and nearly $15,000 in donations, the community came together to make a real difference.
Volunteers will be staffing all drop-off sites, inviting residents to give what they can and keep the momentum going.
Glover tells us about their most needed items.
Your help is needed to champion this vital local effort.
Every item donated helps feed families and support kids heading back to school.
