The goal of the Campaign for PHRC has been increased to $70 million.
On Wednesday at the opening of the hospital’s new Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit Courtyard, PRHC Foundation president Lesley Heighway noted that just more $55 million of the original $60 million goal has been realized.
She added that by increasing the goal, PRHC can move forward on several cutting-edge initiatives in the works, including a digital command centre.
Heighway explained the cost of the digital command centre will require $4.2 million of the added $10 million, noting details of a surgical innovation project are forthcoming.
Heighway adds work is ongoing to secure foundation donations.
Heighway anticipates the campaign will reach its new goal at some point between March and September of 2027.
