With sports tournaments, the Quinte West Pop-ups and Medieval Madness all happening in the Centennial Park area this weekend, there will be parking and traffic impacts.
The QWABA peewee house league tournament is already underway and going until Sunday, Aug. 10 at the Don Ogden Field (Centennial Park) and Bain Park.
Meanwhile, the Quinte West Pop-ups are back as of Thursday, Aug. 7 and until Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., just to the east of the arena.
The Cameron Memorial soccer tourney also gets underway as of Friday and continues through to Sunday.
And then Medieval Madness is happening on Saturday from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Bob Wannamaker Amphitheatre.
In other words, parking in and around the park will be at a premium this weekend, note city officials.
However, on Saturday, additional parking will be available at Quinte West City Hall – located at 7 Creswell Dr. – with free shuttles also running from city hall to the amphitheatre during Medieval Madness. Residents are encouraged to access shuttle services as they can.
Couch Crescent inside the park will also be closed to through-traffic between Bay Street and the Trenton Skatepark on Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. the soccer tournament.
