There are few bigger local stages than that offered by Musicfest and Peterborough’s Irish Millie can’t wait to get on it and do her thing.
The fiddle-playing teen will make her Del Crary Park debut this Wednesday night (August 6), opening for Celtic rockers Mudmen as the annual free summer music festival winds down towards its August 16 conclusion.
Millie, who is known offstage as Amelia Shadgett, will be joined by her guitar-playing dad Murray, setting the tone for the second of three Irish Week concerts being presented by the festival. She welcomes the opportunity to absorb all she can from Mudmen.
Millie sees her Musicfest appearance leading to bigger things for her.
As for performing before thousands of festival goers, Millie says she’s prepared for any nervousness that may come with that.
Millie has just released a new EP titled Between Then and Now, which is available for download on all streaming platforms.
