Whether you’re looking do away with some clutter around the house or interested in hunting for some new treasures, the popular “Curbside Giveaway Days” are coming back to Brighton later this month.
The initiative is making its return to Brighton on Saturday, Aug. 23 and Sunday, Aug. 24, running 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days.
How do you get involved?
If you’re looking to do away with some unwanted but still usable items, simply place them at the curbside for others to pick up for free as they like. No one needs to register or anything of the sorts to take part.
Municipal staff are asking residents to ensure items placed at the curb don’t block roadways, driveways, pedestrian or cycling areas or get in the way of emergency vehicle access.
Similarly, for those hunting for new treasures, people are asked to not block driveways or roads while browsing for goods.
When items don’t find a new home, residents are responsible for bringing them back in and/or may want to consider donations to area thrift stores.
Initiatives such as this also aim to help divert items from the landfill.
