Growing Up on the Farm, a look into local agriculture, presented by Peterborough County Federation of Agriculture, also fueled by KUBOTA. Today we are profiling Whiskey Lane Livestock.
There’s a reason why the Cornish family was named the 2024 Farm Family of Year by the Peterborough-Kawarthas Chamber of Commerce.
The day-to-day operation of Whiskey Lane Livestock in Indian River is a family affair in every way, with Scott and Paula Cornish, and their kids Jason and Shelby, working the 300-acre beef farm.
Back in 2001, newly-married Scott and Paula founded the farm, initially purchasing 150 acres adjacent to the farm where Scott was raised. Having bought her first Angus calf in 1992, Paula says lessons learned years ago via her early farm experience have been passed on to Jason and Shelby, and are even more relevant now.
