The Northumberland Humane Society (NHS) is bringing back its signature fundraiser, Putt4Paws, on Tuesday, September 10th at Dalewood Golf Club in Cobourg. The annual golf tournament invites animal lovers, local businesses, and community members to come together for a day of fun and fundraising in support of shelter animals.
Proceeds from the event will go toward veterinary care, food, supplies, and shelter services for abused, abandoned, and homeless animals throughout Northumberland County.
“Every dollar raised at Putt4Paws directly supports the animals in our care,” said NHS Board Chair Susan Edwards. “It’s more than just a golf tournament – it’s a celebration of compassion and community.”
The day includes 18 holes of golf with a shared cart, lunch and dinner, prize contests, and more. Registration is $200 per player, with each participant receiving a $40 tax receipt. The event begins with lunch at noon followed by a 1 p.m. shotgun start.
Sponsorship opportunities are available for businesses seeking to show their support for animal welfare and community involvement.

Founded in 1966, the Northumberland Humane Society is a non-profit charitable organization that receives little to no government funding and works daily to ensure animals are safe, supported, and valued across Northumberland County.
