The Town of Greater Napanee is asking Sandhurst Shores residents to limit their water use due to high demand during the ongoing heat wave.
A lack of rain and extreme heat have put pressure on the water treatment plant, especially during peak evening hours. The hot weather has also increased strain on the local electrical grid.
Officials say the water remains safe to drink and the treatment plant is still running normally. This is a precaution to help maintain reliable service for all users.
The Utilities Department has hand-delivered notices to residents and will continue to monitor the situation.
Until further notice, residents are urged to reduce non-essential water use, especially during high-demand periods.
