The Brighton YMCA has a fresh new look – and you’re invited for the “big reveal” next Tuesday.
The Brighton Y location at 170 Main St. has been closed for about two weeks to tackle renovations and is set to reopen this Friday, Aug. 1. Following this, YMCA Northumberland says a big reveal and open-house celebration with an official ceremony is in the works for Tuesday, Aug. 5.
It’ll be an all-day affair next Tuesday – from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. – but an official reopening ceremony is set for 10 a.m. and residents are invited to join in the festivities.
“The Brighton Y has always been more than a fitness facility – it’s a place where our community comes together,” says CEO Eunice Kirkpatrick. “This refresh of our equipment and new flooring reflects our ongoing commitment to providing a welcoming and inspiring space for the people of Brighton to be active.
“We can’t wait to share these updates with our members and community residents.”
The open-house celebration will include free entry – people can explore the refreshed facility and see what’s new at the Y, take part in some equipment demonstrations, guided tours or regular classes. The official ceremony will include light refreshments.
During the celebration, the Y will also be collecting non-perishable food donations for the food bank.
