A heat warning is in effect for Greater Napanee and much of southern and eastern Ontario as a multi-day heat event begins Sunday, July 27, 2025.
Environment Canada says daytime highs will reach 30 to 34°C, with humidex values between 38 and 42. Nighttime temperatures will remain high, ranging from 19 to 23°C, offering little relief. The hottest day is expected to be Monday.
The heat may end by Monday night in some areas, but it could continue into Wednesday elsewhere.
Health officials urge people to drink water often, stay indoors during the hottest parts of the day, and check on vulnerable individuals, including seniors and those living alone.
Heat exhaustion symptoms include headache, nausea, dizziness, and fatigue. Heat stroke is a medical emergency and requires immediate attention.
Residents are also reminded never to leave children or pets in parked vehicles. For safety, follow advice from local public health authorities.
