Two Peterborough favourites are set to bring the energy to Del Crary Park this Saturday as part of the Peterborough Musicfest summer concert series.
The Weber Brothers, returning for their third Musicfest appearance, have spent nearly two decades touring, recording, and earning a reputation for their high-powered live shows. Mentored by rockabilly icon Ronnie Hawkins, brothers Ryan and Sam have built a dedicated following and released 15 albums along the way.
Joining them for their Musicfest debut are The Spades — a local trio known for their raw, gritty rock and unforgettable performances. Fronted by James McKenty and rounded out by Tommy Street and Josh “Chachi” Robichaud, the band is a staple of the Peterborough music scene.
Musicfest’s Raff Melito says both bands have big followings and it will special to have them on stage at the same time.
The two bands are set to hit the Fred Anderson Stage at 8pm but Melito says the evening itself will get underway at 5pm.
Admission is free, and lawn chairs are welcome or available to rent on-site for $5, with the money going to support to Musicfest and it’s effort to continue providing free summer concerts.
